Lakehead University Homecoming Weekend 2025

Celebrate Lakehead’s 60th birthday with a weekend full of pride, memories, and community spirit. Whether you’re an alum, student, or Thunder Bay local, there’s something for everyone.

Lakehead Thunderwolves Hockey – Opening Weekend

Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Fort William Gardens
Opponent: Guelph Gryphons
Tickets: Available online or at the Gardens box office

  • Special 25th Anniversary jerseys
  • Wall of Fame inductions
  • Exciting new recruits hitting the ice

Saturday, October 4

Market at the Moose

Celebrate the 25th Anniversary Season with:

Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: 434 Fort William Road
Hosted by: Jennie’s Events

Shop local at this vibrant indoor market featuring:

  • 60 vendors
  • Live music
  • Food booths
  • Free admission

Sunday, October 5

Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure

Time: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Royal Canadian Legion Track
Open to: Everyone — including children and walkers
Route Options:

  • 5K run
  • 1K walk/run

Support breast cancer research and survivorship.

Tuesday, October 7

Wheel of Fortune Live!

Time: 7:30 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM)
Location: Thunder Bay Community Auditorium
Tickets: tbca.com or in person Wednesdays from 12:30–5:30

Audience members will be randomly selected to:

  • Spin the iconic Wheel
  • Solve puzzles
  • Win vacations and cash prizes up to $10,000

New this year: On-site auditions for a chance to appear on a future TV episode, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White.
