A fast food restaurant in Thunder Bay has introduced a distinctive new offering for a good cause.
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Burger Barn has launched Burgers for Boobies to raise funds for patients and families impacted by breast cancer in Northwestern Ontario.
Until the end of October, 50 per cent of the proceeds earned from every “Boobie Burger” sold at the popular Memorial Ave. eatery will go Every Boobie Burger sold in October helps support breast cancer care through the Northern Cancer Fund.
Among the offerings will be the Boobie Burger, a classic deluxe hamburger topped with lettuce, tomato, bacon, BBQ mayo, and bacon Persian butter and the Spicy Mother Clucker Chicken.
Both are served on a “boobie bun,” which according to a release from the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation, is “shaped like a breast”.
“We are always honoured to take part in community events, especially for such a noble cause,” said Tony Hockenhull, co-founder of Burger Barn in a statement.
“For us, it’s about giving back and we are excited and thankful to partner with the Foundation on this fundraiser.”
