This morning – Candi and I were talking about Ontario raising the minimum wage to $17.20 as of today. That had us thinking back to our first jobs / and what you remember the minimum wage to be. We had so many calls / texts to our TbayTel Talk and Text Line. Some included:
$1.65/ hour at the Zellers Northwood
$5.15 / hour at Miracle Lube
Safeway, 1978…3.10 / hour
River Street Variety at $3.15 / hour
Casey’s Restaurant at $2 / hour
AND THEN…we had a chance to talk to Gerri-Lynne…who called in and wanted to qualify in our GOLDEN TICKET 2.2 contest. But first – we had to ask her about what she remembers about ‘minimum wage’. It was a fun call:
