The expansion work at Westgate Collegiate will not be completed in time for the start of school next week.
School board spokesperson David Wright tells us there were unexpected delays in construction.
The school board official stresses though, the classrooms are not affected by the construction and so the school will open as scheduled Wednesday.
Wright tells us the new addition, which includes a new cafeteria and staff room, will not be ready until January.
