We’ve all seen episodes of American Idol, The Voice, Etc. where people cover famous artist’s songs and the winners go on to do…well, not a whole lot in some cases. Part of the problem, I think, is that many of these artists just don’t know how to write a song themselves. Or find the people that will actually help them create their own music. Well a new talent show called ‘No Cover’ is aiming to take that element away. It’s a music show, primarily focusing on bands or solo artists that can accompany themselves and the judges are very interesting…Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Tosin Abasi (a guitar superstar), Bishop Briggs (alternative rock artist), Lindsay Hale of Halestorm and Alice Cooper! I’m going to watch just for Alice Cooper but I have to say that listening to Gavin Rossdale tell one of the bands, essentially, that they sounded like the sum of the parts of the bands they liked…gave me a bit of a giggle (that’s the pot calling the kettle black!).
