Warm Air Expected To Next Week

Temperatures hovering around the 30 degree mark are expected by Environment Canada for Thunder Bay into next week.

However, meteorologist Ryan Rozinskis notes there’ll be a few cool breaks along the way since we’re beside Lake Superior.

“We could be getting into some easterly wind, which could lower the temperature, particularly right along the shore. But usually this far out, they’re not as certain, because the wind that can create that is general fairly light.”

The meteorologist adds we can look south of the border for its origin.

“A predominant south-westerly flow, that’s actually helping to bring this warmer temperatures up from the United States, and that persistence is actually why it’s going to be lasting as long as it is.”

But, he doesn’t necessarily have the best news for Canada Day.

“July 1st, that’s one of the days, unfortunately for Thunder Bay, kind of looking at a potential for showers that day. Again, they could be fairly localized, that being several days out, that could always change.”

The Environment Canada meteorologist notes this weather is expected across most of northern Ontario.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
