A new Friends of Oliver Paipoonge Heritage Park group have made an online survey to gather community interest in the park.
They are inviting the public to take the survey to determine its future and how to improve.
The Highway 61 heritage park, just west of Thunder Bay, features historical buildings, including a train station and antique car museum, that showcase the region’s pioneer history. The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge supports the facility with a budget of about $146,000 per season.
Volunteer for the OPHP, Rebecca Eras, said in the release that the survey is a great starting point to guide their direction.
“We’re a small group of volunteers who want to help enhance the park and protect and promote its historic and cultural value to the community and region,” said Eras.
The online survey will be available until July 31.
