VIDEO: Students Build Crossing Guard Huts For City

Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute students have used their class time to help out the City of Thunder Bay’s crossing guards.

They spent time this year building six crossing guard huts.

Grade 12 student Colin Nagy tells us it’s fun to give back to the community.

The new huts will be painted and then located across the city later in the spring.

Teacher John Delorey says the students learned how to follow a plan and communication skills.

Thunder Bay Crossing Guard Supervisor Michelle Riemer tells us these new huts will replace some of the older ones.

The six huts were picked up by city officials at Superior Collegiate on Friday.
