Ontario is moving ahead with Phase Two of its COVID-19 vaccination plan, starting with hot spots, manufacturers and those with highest-risk health conditions.
Premier Doug Ford says they’ve received enough doses to dramatically increase vaccination, planning to distribute another nine million doses by the end of June.
“More mass vaccination centres, including those that have paused operations because of the lack of supply, are coming back online,” he says.
Thunder Bay’s Health Unit is among the health units that will start offering appointments to those over 60 tomorrow.
However, Thunder Bay is not among the hot spots getting extra vaccine doses in Phase 2.
The province’s new timeline estimates essential workers who can’t do their jobs from home will be able to get their shot starting in mid-May and June, just a few weeks earlier than its previous timeline.
