Vaccine Clinic To Open At LU

The Thunder Bay Region Health Sciences Centre is opening a vaccination clinic this week at Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin education building.

Hospital CEO Rhonda Crocker-Ellacott tells us the larger space will allow for significantly more doses of vaccinations per day.

“Because we have a smaller vaccine clinic we were running about 115 vaccines a day at max….we’re cautiously optimistic that we will start to receive an additional supply of Pfizer in the coming weeks and months,” explains Crocker-Ellacott.

The hospital CEO stresses the clinic is not open to anyone who wants to get vaccinated noting, “In terms of who will be receiving the vaccine in this clinic…it will be under the direction of the provincial vaccine task force and at this point and time we continue to wait for their direction and advice.”
