You can officially travel in a URide with your pet.
The company made changes to the platform this week following a conversation between Founder and CEO Cody Ruberto and a user of the app.
“So I’m the annoying person that talks to everybody on the plane, and so I was on a flight last week from Toronto to Thunder Bay and started talking to the person next to me, Nathan,” explained Ruberto. And it turns out this is like a Uride passenger.
A discussion with the passenger about potential issues with the platform led to the discovery that riding with a pet was creating an obstacle to receiving service.
“Every time he goes out to a friend’s house, he wants to bring his pet with him, and 75 per cent of the time when he books his rides get cancelled when he has a pet,” added Ruberto.
“I’m just like, that is mind blowing. I’m like, this is a problem that shouldn’t exist. Like, we’re launching this category. We’re going to fix this thing, and then we did. And here we are.”
The changes were in place on the platform on Tuesday.
