Update: Power Outage Resolved After North Side Crash

Thunder Bay Police say nobody is hurt after a hit-and-run involving a city bus this morning at around 9 o’clock.

They report a black Dodge pickup ran a red light at the intersection of Cumberland and Camelot and hit the bus, causing the bus to collide with a hydro pole.

That resulted in a power outage in the area of Camelot/Algoma/Fitzgerald, however hydro officials say power is now restored to the some 500 customers that were impacted.

The Cumberland and Camelot intersection remains closed off.

Police say the truck fled the scene and was found abandoned on Van Norman Street, while the lone male occupant was seen running towards Cook Street.

City Transit officials say there are no delays due to the collision. (Photo: Caroline Redston)
