UPDATE: Eligibility For 4th Doses Opens Thursday

Ontario is expanding the eligibility for fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore announced Wednesday that those 18 years of age an older can book an appointment beginning on Thursday, July 14th at 8:00 a.m.

You can get your appointment through the province’s COVID-19 vaccination portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1 (833) 943-3900.

Appointments can also be made through your local health unit, through Indigenous-led vaccination clinics and participating pharmacies.

Five months must have passed from your first booster dose in order to receive a second one.

Dr. Moore also indicated Wednesday that a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine is anticipated to be approved by Health Canada in the fall, which may offer more targeted protection against the Omicron variants.
