United Way’s Novemburger rebranding to Ultimate Burger Battle

United Way’s popular Novemburger campaign in Thunder Bay is going to look different this year.

The initiative, which started in 2019, is rebranding to the Ultimate Burger Battle.

Last year, nine other United Ways across Canada held their first-ever Novemburger, marking the national expansion of the event.

The expansion is part of what led to the rebranding, allowing for a more flexible brand that works for any community looking to get involved, regardless of the calendar month.

“We’re really excited to introduce this update to burger fans across the region,” says Ultimate Burger Battle Chef de Mission, Erika Mikkola. “While Novemburger will always hold a special place in our hearts, we’re heralding in a new era, filled with opportunity.”

“We’re keeping everything our fans love, and introducing new ways to get involved.”

The new name reveal comes as the campaign is starting preparations for this year’s event.

Last year, the event raised over $130,000 for the United Way of Thunder Bay, marking the largest year to date.

“This year’s event promises big flavour, and even bigger impact,” says United Way Thunder Bay CEO Albert Brulé. “Every dollar raised during the Ultimate Burger Battle goes towards supporting food programs right here in Thunder Bay and across our region. Together, we can help nourish the north, providing food security to those in need.”

The Ultimate Burger battle is launching on November 1, running through the month.

More information and details on the event are expected in the coming months.
