Today’s Bargaining Keeps Hope Alive

Contract discussions continue today between the Ford government and English Catholic teachers union.

Aldo Grillo is the local head of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association, and tells us where they’ll be striking Tuesday if talks today break down without a deal.

“In Thunder Bay, we will be at St. Bernard School on River Street, at Pope John Paul II School on Arthur Street, and E.Q. Jennings on John Street.”

The union boss adds he’s hopeful as he senses the Ford government is getting the message. Tomorrow all elementary and high schools will be closed in the public and English Catholic systems, while only public elementary schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
