Unifor members will be rallying today outside a south-side retirement home to ask for higher wages.
They’ll gather outside the Chartwell Retirement Residence on Isabella Street East, to protest what they call shamefully low wages being paid by Chartwell.
The union says the company has also proposed a pay freeze for all of its minimum wage employees until next year.
Unifor will be launching its “Pay Fair Chartwell” campaign at 1 o’clock.
The local rally is one of seven taking place in the province.
