Thunder Bay’s christian radio station CJOA may be about to change owners.
The United Christian Broadcasters of Canada is asking the federal broadcast regulator, the CRTC, to purchase the low power radio station from Thunder Bay Christian Broadcasting and make changes to its licence.
Those changes include reducing the amount of required local programming which currently sits at 100 per cent and to allow the station to sell advertising which it currently isn’t allowed to.
And that’s not all, the new ownership wants permission to increase the power from 50 watts to 250 watts.
