A ruptured diesel fuel tank is the cause of a fire sending clouds of smoke into the air in the south end.
Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue says it was called late Tuesday afternoon to the Westfort area, to find an excavator had hit the tank, resulting in the fire.
That was quickly controlled.
Earlier in the afternoon, fire fighters say they quickly dealt with a garage fire heated by a wood stove, also in the south end.
In both cases, there were no injuries.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
