Two SIJHL teams crack top 20 listings

Two SIJHL teams are among this week’s top 20 in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s weekly rankings.

The undefeated Fort Frances Lakers remain in the 10th spot.

They won their 5th straight game to open the season on Saturday with a convincing 7-1 victory over the visiting Thunder Bay North Stars.

The league-leading Sioux Lookout Bombers moved from honourable mentions in last week’s rankings to number 18.

The Bombers sport a 6-1 record, having won six straight since their season-opening loss to the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

The Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League hold down the ranking’s number one spot for a second straight week.

Collège Français de Longueuil of the Quebec league are ranked number two.

The rankings are compiled by an independent scouting service.
