Two close races predicted for northwestern Ontario

The latest opinion polls suggest at least two of the northwestern Ontario incumbents in the provincial election will return to Queen’s Park.

The election tracking site 338 Canada lists Kenora-Rainy River and Kiiwetinoong as safe ridings for the PC’s Greg Rickford and NDP’s Sol Mamakwa, respectively.

Thunder Bay-Atikokan is shown leaning toward re-electing PC-incumbent Kevin Holland, with the NDP a close second in public support.

Some other polls have the NDP’s Judith Monteith-Farrell ahead of Holland.

Thunder Bay-Superior North is seen as a three-way race.

338 Canada shows the PCs, Liberals and NDP, each with 31% support.

The provincial election takes place on February 27th.
