Traffic Study Nixes Roundabout

The councillor for Northwood is happy with the results of a traffic study which indicate a roundabout is not required at Victoria Avenue and Ford Steet after all.

Shelby Ch’ng tells us the study shows the need for a traffic circle is not there.

She goes on to suggest a perceived issue involving city buses and their tight schedules are not the problem once thought.

Ch’ng calls it a “win-win all around ” since taxpayers dollars will not have to be spent for any controlled intersection.

Further details of the traffic study will be made available next week during Ch’ng’s Northwood Ward meeting on Tuesday night at Dennis Franklin Cromarty School on Edward Street.

The issue caused quite a stir on social media with some complaining a traffic circle was a waste of money.
