Traffic stop leads to drug charges in Shuniah

Three people are facing charges following a traffic stop on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah.

The stop was initiated on Tuesday afternoon.

A search of the vehicle revealed 407 grams of suspected cocaine and just under $3,000 in cash.

As a result, a 41-year-old from London, a 20-year-old from Mississauga, and a 34-year-old from North York are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule One substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused from the Greater Toronto Area remain in custody, while the accused from London has been released.

All three are scheduled with a future court date.
