City police say a morning collision on Balmoral and Central Avenue had its start on the city’s south side.
They say just before 8:30, police saw a speeding pickup truck go through a red light on James Street at Redwood Avenue and almost hit a crossing guard.
After a brief car chase, police say they discontinued their pursuit because of safety concerns.
Police say the vehicle was then involved in a minor collision at Balmoral and Hewitson and then it collided with another vehicle at Balmoral and Central next to police headquarters.
One person was taken to hospital with what police say are minor injuries.
A 43-year-old woman is facing charges of dangerous driving, impaired driving, and fleeing from police.
She will remain behind bars until her court appearance tomorrow.
