Thunder Bay’s PRO Kids fundraiser returns

Power to Play, the fundraising campaign for Thunder Bay’s PRO Kids program is back.

The fundraiser is seeking to raise $30,000.

White Pine Electric kicked things off with a $5,000 donation.

“We encourage everyone to give the gift of play to children in our community,” says PRO Kids Coordinator Amanda Prien. “Registration fees, transportation, and equipment costs continue to be leading barriers to participation. Together, we can remove these barriers and help kids belong, participate, and thrive.”

PRO Kids is a registered charity that started in 1998 and has helped over 28,000 Thunder Bay youth access recreational programs.

Families who cannot afford to put their kids into community sports, arts, and activities can apply to the program for help.

The program can also help with transportation if that is a barrier to accessing programming.
