Thunder Bay Woman Collects ENCORE Cash

Wanda Kardal of Thunder Bay is in possession of $100,000 thanks to a win during the June 19th LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Kardal matched six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order.

Wanda, a retired mother of three and grandmother of one, said she is an occasional lottery player. “This ticket was in a pile that we were checking at the time. I couldn’t believe it when my husband shouted, we won!” Kardal shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “We told our boys – they were thrilled.”

The retired mother of three and grandmother to one plans to go on a vacation, save some for her grandchild, purchase a new television and put the rest away.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Arthur Street.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
