The spring Tim Hortons Smile Cooke Campaign in Thunder Bay has wrapped up.
The event raised a total of $119,457.32.
The funds are going to support the George Jeffery Children’s Foundation and the Dew Drop Inn, with each organization receiving $59,728.66.
“We are so grateful to be part of a campaign that not only brings people together over something as simple and joyful as cookies, but also creates such meaningful change in our community,” said the CEO of George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation, Cindy Levanto. “Thanks to this incredible support, we can continue to help fund the programs, equipment and services that allow children at our Centre to receive a variety of speech, physical and social therapies.”
This is the most money the initiative has raised in the city.
From April 28 to May 4, 100 per cent of proceeds from Smile Cookie sales at participating Tim Hortons locations in Thunder Bay stayed in the community to support children, youth, and individuals in need.
This year’s national Smile Cookie campaign also set a new record, raising a remarkable $22.6 million to support over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and in the United States.
