Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Sciences Foundation to raise over $30,000 in 24 hours

Another Giving Tuesday campaign from Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

It aims to raise $30,567 in 24 hours for a new isolette for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

It is a special bed that keeps infants warm and monitored while in the NICU.

The campaign is being supported by a matching donation of up to $15,000 from an anonymous family.

This is the 10th straight Giving Tuesday campaign for the Foundation.

“We’re celebrating our tenth Giving Tuesday, and we couldn’t be more grateful for what our donors have made possible,” states Lindsay Doran-Bonk, Manager of Digital Engagement at the Foundation, in a release.

“Over the past nine years, in 216 hours of Giving Tuesday campaigns, donors have given $441,466 to fund 27 life-saving pieces of equipment for the Hospital.”

As an added incentive, anyone who donates to the campaign will be entered into a draw for two pairs of Hillberg & Berk Christmas earrings, donated by Vince and Alex Mirabelli of Re/Max.

Donations will be accepted starting at midnight Tuesday.

You can donate online at healthsciencesfoundation.ca/gt, in person at the hospital next to the Christmas Tree in the lobby or by calling 807-345-4673.

Updates on the campaign will be provided on the Foundation’s social media pages.
