Thunder Bay Police Service investigating a shooting

The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a shooting incident that took place over the weekend.

City police were sent to Trillium Court Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of an incident involving a weapon.

An injured adult male was located and sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment of serious injuries.

The Emergency Task Unit was involved in the response, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police.

The Major Crimes Unit is involved in the ongoing investigation, and a visible police presence remains in the area.

Police are asking anyone in the area with home surveillance or dash cameras that may have captured relevant footage between 4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Sunday to contact investigators
