Thunder Bay Man Wins Big 6/49 Prize

A 59-year-old aircraft maintenance worker in Thunder Bay is the winner of a big lottery prize.

Bryan Hamilton collected $269,666.30 in the February 27th 6/49 draw.

When Hamilton shared the news with his wife he told her “She’d better take a seat-she thought I was lying. I had to send her two pictures. She was very excited.”

He plans to use his winnings for retirement and home renovations.

The winning ticket was purchased at Metro on River Street in Thunder Bay.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
