Thunder Bay launching 2SLGBTQIA+ sticker campaign

Thunder Bay is launching a new 2SLGBTQIA+ Welcome Sticker Initiative.

Moving forward all city facility entrances will have the sticker on display.

The new campaign aims to highlight that Thunder Bay is a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.

“Thunder Bay is a community that values diversity and inclusion,” said Mayor Ken Boshcoff. “By launching the 2SLGBTQIA+ Welcome Sticker Initiative, we are taking an important step in ensuring that everyone feels welcome and respected in our city. This initiative not only celebrates the diversity of our residents but also strengthens the fabric of our community.”

The announcement comes after Drag Queen Storytime an event held by the city’s 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations was interrupted by a bomb threat.

“It signifies to me that the city is with us lockstep,” said Rainbow Collective president Jason Veltri. “Council understands the work ahead of us, to ensure that we keep pushing forward and growing this community through diversity and inclusion.”
