Thunder Bay CEDC adds to board of directors

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission has added to its board of directors.

Denise Atkinson, Founder and CEO of Tea Horse and Tipi Horse Connects, is joining the board.

She brings an extensive background and adds Indigenous representation to the board.

Atkinson is a member of the Red Rock Indian Band and has spent over 20 years working for the federal government.

She is also affiliated with the Canadian Aboriginal & Minority Supplier Council, the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, the Anishinaabe Business Professional Association, Women’s Business Enterprise Canada, and the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development.

“Denise is a great asset to our Board of Directors,” said CEO Jamie Taylor. “Her knowledge and expertise will bring valuable insight and new perspectives to our work as we continue to promote inclusive, sustainable economic opportunities in Thunder Bay and our region.”
