Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board appoints new education director

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board has a new director of education.

Jean-Paul Tennier is taking on the role on Monday.

“I am honoured and humbled to be named the New Director of Education for Thunder Bay Catholic,” said Tennier. “I look forward to working collaboratively with staff, students, families and the community to continue the Board’s commitment to providing a faith-based, high-quality education that prepares our students for a successful future.”

He now joins his father who also served as TBCDSB’s director of education.

Tennier has over 26 years of experience in educational leadership roles.

“During the last 10 years, Jean-Paul served as Superintendent of Education, before his appointment as Superintendent he was a High School teacher, a Vice-Principal at St. Ignatius and St. Patrick High Schools and a Principal at Pope John Paul II Senior Elementary School where he led numerous successful initiatives,” said the Chair of the Board of Trustees Tony Romeo.

Tennier is replacing Pino Tassone who is retiring after spending 10 years in the role.
