Thunder Bay airport planning security upgrades

The Thunder Bay International Airport will be expanding the screening facilities at its security checkpoint.

A third screening line is planned, as well as modernization efforts.

The airport expects the upgrades to improve the flow of passengers as they move through security and to expand the peak capacity of the airport.

Construction is planned for mid-January, with the aim of finishing in June of this year.

The news comes as the airport is making several renovations, including new check-in counters, updated check-in systems, and accessibility upgrades.
