Three Thunder Bay Kings squads set to skate in GTHL

A trio of the Thunder Bay Kings teams are green lit to play in the Greater Toronto Hockey League.

The under-15, U-16 and Under-18 AAA squads secured the approval of several hockey bodies:

Greater Toronto Hockey League
Hockey Northwestern Ontario
Ontario Hockey Federation
Hockey Canada

The release indicates Hockey Canada still needs to stamp yearly approval for out of branch competition.

The move was precipitated due to the ongoing pandemic and the current cross-border travel issues, among other factors.

All competition however remains contingent on the ‘Return to Play’ scenarios set by the leagues and various provincial health organizations.

The Thunder Bay Under-13 Kings team will skate in the Under-14 age brackets within the ranks of the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association.
