Neat! And Frozen Too…er…2!

Okay, I admit it: I really want to see Frozen 2! My kids have yet to be ‘ready’ to go see it, I think they are waiting for it to come to Disney+ and avoid the theater craziness. I, however, was geared up and ready to go see it with some friends and their kids last week…sadly, my kids just didn’t want to go out. I’m not one to sit around the house watching Frozen and singing ‘Let It Go’ to myself (well, I’m not one to ADMIT I do it at least) but Google Assistant has a little stop-gap for me while I wait for Disney+ to put Frozen 2 on it’s ‘New Release’ menu, it now tells stories courtesy of the characters in the movie. All you need to do is say, ‘Hey Google, tell me a Frozen story’ and you’ll be welcomed by Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf to some campfire stories. You’ll be asked to pick a character to tell a story and then…away you go! The stories are cute, educational, entertaining, and in Disney fashion, quite captivating. The stories are also fairly short, 5-7 minutes each, but they are handy for keeping the kids quiet for a bit without having them in front of a video screen of some sort. In fact, I listened to Anna’s story of Brunnhild while I was writing this post.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t spent a lot of time asking Google to tell me stories, but I love ‘radio theater’ or ‘theater of the mind’, story telling with sound effects, creating that visual in my mind. My kids dig it quite a bit too, since they hear it so much around our house. I think Disney may have hit on a neat little ‘retro’ ploy to keep kids, and parents, interested in between watching.
