It’s fair to say, even with a provincial grant announcement, the tough times continue for local businesses.
The province unveiled on Friday the Ontario Small Business Support Grant, which can provide between $10,000 and $20,000 to help with revenue losses as a result of the shutdown.
“They’ve had very little time to try to make back the losses from the spring and now to be shut down again and back to $0 revenue is a huge concern for all business but in particular for those who offer a service rather than a product,” says Robinson. “If this continues and businesses are still working at reducing their operations in order to protect the health of Ontarians, then they’re going to need more support. The question then becomes how can we work together to ensure that those supports are there?”
