Thieves have found another way to track your car!

From this morning’s “TODAY IN THE BAY”:

You’ve heard a lot of stories of car theft. In fact, last year was the toughest year ever – most of it happening in Southern Ontario.

Police are now sending out warnings – to check your car for “air tags”. Air Tags are tiny devices you can attach to your keys, your wallet, your luggage – and you’ll be able to track them via your phone.

Why “air tags”? This comes after some Americans who traveled through Canada, via Montreal – came back home and found air tags in their car. The theory, according to police – is that ‘criminal gangs’ are now putting ‘air tags’ on cars……..to track you home / and know where the vehicle is. Police are saying thieves are using ‘quick and sophisticated methods to track and steal desirable vehicles’.

THIS IS SCARY STUFF!! What will they think of next!

PS – on the flip side, new vehicles have their own tracking device. So, should your car be stolen…you’ll most likely know where it is. OR, you can put an “air tag” in your car – so you know where it is at all times (unless the thieves find it). Ooooof!
