The Market Has Lots Of Christmas Ideas

It all started in 1997 when a group of 11 local producers decided to market their goods out of a small barn situated on the CLE grounds. 22 years later, the Market has become a sustainable engine of the Thunder Bay economy, with an average of 6,000 visitors every week who shop for locally sourced foods, crafts, and gifts from the talented and hard-working people who created them.

The Thunder Bay Country Market is one of many locations across Thunder Bay that is a Christmas Cash partner with 99.9 The Bay. Enter at the Market on Saturdays or Wednesdays or other participating sponsors and then listen to The Bay for your chance to win $100 in shop local cash.

It’s become a weekly tradition for many, as more and more Thunder Bay locals realize that local is better for the environment, for flavor and freshness, for connecting directly with producers, and for the economy. For others, it’s a meeting place full of good people where they can get in touch with some of the simpler things in life.

Now open Wednesdays and Saturdays year-round, the Market is proud to be the largest producer-based market in Northwestern Ontario. If you’ve visited their website recently, you may have noticed a new “Shop” tab where you can purchase Gift Certificates, and a variety of seasonal Gift Baskets packaged and ready to go. Be sure to check out their Holiday theme baskets coming soon!

Experience the best of Thunder Bay all under one roof. You can see their list of vendors here.
