Thunder Bay’s Catholic elementary teachers say they’ve been served a legal notice from the school board that if they strike they’ll be locked out on January 31st.
The Ontario Elementary Catholic Teachers Union says that they’ve been in a legal strike position since last June and have repeatedly offered bargaining with an arbitrator but a deal has yet to be reached.
The union says they are very dissapointed in the school board since they are threatening the teacher lock-out, under the guise of “student safety”.
No bargaining dates have yet to be scheduled but the union has asked for additional dates.
