Teachers Push For Vaccinations

Teachers in the province are asking they all be vaccinated during next week’s spring break.

Mike Judge of the local Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario agrees believing it is necessary to help protect them from COVID-19.

“We’d like to see all of our teachers vaccinated as quickly as possible especially when you start looking at the primary teachers in kindergartens where you have the big class sizes and students that aren’t required to wear masks,” says Judge.

The union official adds, “We know that education works best when we’re there in person…but we have some members who are concerned for their well-being so it’s a real tug of war.”

Judge is encouraged the province has decided to vaccinate special education teachers.
