“We had a lower capacity and we were able to support the needs of Manitoba,” said Crocker-Ellacott. “So the process was done on the patient care first provision.”

Crocker-Ellacott notes the Health Sciences Centre is working with Shared Health Manitoba in addition to the Ministry of Health.
“We’ve set up an instant command structure within the north,” added Crocker-Ellacott. “Our medical Director, Dr. Michael Scott coordinates with Shared Health Manitoba to look at who has capacity within the north and what are the needs of Manitoba Health.”
The plan allows for up to 20 patients to be taken in by area hospitals.
