Suspect In Teens Death To Stand Trial For Manslaughter

A Fort Hope man is going to stand trial on manslaughter in relation to the December 2018 death of 17-year-old Braiden Jacob.

Jonathon Yellowhead was in court Tuesday and heard the Ontario court judge say there wasn’t enough evidence for him to stand trial on the original second-degree murder charge.

People leaving the courtroom were visibly upset and crying.

Police say Braiden Jacob’s body was discovered in the Chapples Park area on December 9th, 2018 by a passerby.

Jacob had been reported missing by Thunder Bay police on December 6th and was last seen heading to the Limbrick Street area.

The 17-year-old was in the city for appointments for service his home community didn’t offer.
