Superior League On Indefinite Pause

The SIJHL unveils an indefinite pause to all activities and games.

League Commissioner Darrin Nicholas, in a statement Friday, indicated that the circuit continues to identify any pathways that may still exist to completing the 2020-2021 season.

“We’re locked down until February 11th and our Board of Governors feel at this point to initiate planning for a February 12th continuation is not productive given our experience with similar restrictive measures that have been extended prior to their expiration,” notes Nicholas.

The Commissioner did reveal the conditions under which planning to finish the season would proceed.

“Firstly, we must be able to continue to execute with paramount focus on the health and well-being of
our players, staff, billet homes and communities. Beyond that, we need to be able to play a meaningful
regular season and playoff schedule and determine a champion within our usual mid- late-April time
frame.” stressed Nicholas.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
