Student Takes On Page Duties Today

A Grade 8 student at Woodcrest Public School has been selected to serve as a Legislative Page at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

Sophie Sutherland says she was “really excited” to get the call she was among the 20 or so students chosen for the honour.

Sutherland is looking forward to the three weeks she will be doing her duties, but admits to having a bit of the jitters since she does not want to forget all she needs to remember.

She is confident however, that she has memorized the names and consistencies of all 124 Member of the Legislative Assembly.

Her duties will consist of making sure documents and bills are delivered to the MLA’s and ensuring their water glassed are filled.

Sutherland begins her duties at the Ontario Legislature today.
