Strange homeowner laws still on the books! OMG!

Do you own a house? As a homeowner, we have rules / laws that we have to follow. A fun story trending this morning, about strange laws Ontario homeowners didn’t even know about. Thunder Bay didn’t make the list. I’m wondering if we have any stranger laws like these:

In Ottawa (Kanata neighbourhood): it’s illegal to paint your house or garage PURPLE. Any other colour is acceptable, just not purple.

London: grass cutting is taken very seriously. If you leave your grass to grow more than 8 inches, a city worker will come to your house and cut it for you. The CITY will send you a bill.

Garage sales in Toronto: you can’t have more than 2 a year.

In Etobicoke: you can’t fill your bathtub with more than 3 ½ inches of water.

In Uxbridge (north of Oshawa): you can’t own more than 2 dogs. If you want more, you need a property that has more than 10 acres.

In Oshawa: it’s illegal to climb a tree

And…a law that’s still on the books in Toronto. You can’t drag a dead horse down Younge Street on Sundays. Any other day of the week is fine – just not Sundays.

FYI: some of these laws have been on the books for years. LOL
