Staal Foundation Open Nearly Here

The Staal Foundation Open is nearly here, and that means the PGA Tour Canada event is looking for volunteers.
At a tournament progress update at city hall today, Executive Director Scott Smith says they need nearly 400 volunteers for the July event. Tournament representative, and Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal was at city hall today as well, and says he’s ready for the tournament to get underway.
To become a volunteer, you can go to www.staalopen.ca.
Staal also had a chance to reflect on this year’s NHL season. The second oldest of four Staal brothers, says they were inconsistent throughout the year, but adds that they’re still a young team and have incredible potential.
The Hurricanes are currently without a head coach, as Kirk Muller was fired shortly after season’s end. Staal says it will be interesting to see who comes in to take over the team.
The 6’4, 220 pound centreman put up 40 points in 82 games last season.
On the bright side for the Staals however, Marc has his chance to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals tonight with a win against the Montreal Canadiens.
Jordan says his brother Marc has had a rough past couple of years, with an eye injury, and a couple concussions, but says he’s proud of the opportunities his older brother has.
