The Northwestern Ontario Sportsmen’s Alliance is urging the province to expand the spring bear hunt.
A pilot program in select wildlife management units this spring worked well but didn’t hit the mark in addressing dangerous bear reports.
John Kaplanis says it would be most prudent of the Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro to consider changes to the pilot project.
He would also like to see the hunt expanded to the Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances districts.
