Six people are facing charges following a three-week-long drug trafficking investigation.
The provincial police investigated incidents of drug trafficking throughout the Thunder Bay District between April 21 and May 9.
The investigation led to the search of two homes in Thunder Bay.
During the search, officers seized suspected cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, Percocet pills, and illegal cannabis.
As a result of the investigation, the following charges have been laid:
A 57-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
A 42-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
A 48-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
A 43-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing the following charge:
- Possession for the purpose of distributing
A 27-year-old from Thunder Bay is facing the following charge:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
A 49-years-old from Langley, B.C. is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
The 57-year-old, 27-year-old, and B.C. resident were all released from custody with future court dates.
The 42-year-old and 48-year-old remain in custody with a future court date.
No information was provided on whether the 43-year-old was released from custody or not.
