The province’s civilian police watchdog is investigating an incident on the weekend involving two plain clothed city officers.
Police say the two were alerted to a break and enter at a John Street residence Saturday afternoon. When they arrived they found a 63 year old man being assaulted outside the residence.
They arrested a 29 year old man after a struggle. The Special Investigations Unit is probing the incident because of the injuries the suspect sustained while being taken into custody.
The 63 year old was taken to hospital for the treatment of the injuries he received in the assault.
