Shipping Season Expected To Close Mid January

Thunder Bay’s shipping season is still in full swing.

Port Authority CEO Tim Heney tells us they still have a few ships still in the harbour. “The ocean ships should be out of port by Christmas, a little later than normal. After that, we probably have about eight more lakers to go. So we’ll be shipping probably up until the closing of the Soo Locks which is January 15th.”

So far the port has been busier than normal something Heney feels is a strong end to an already good year.
